About Squads:

Since 2021, we’ve built products and APIs that unlock the benefits of modern money.

We began with Squads Protocol, the autonomous finance layer built on Solana. Secured by Solana’s permissionless ledger, Squads Protocol enables programmable payments, 24/7 USD liquidity, competitive yields and security enforced by deterministic code, not corporate promises.

The new financial stack is being built on blockchains, powered by tokenized assets, and designed for a world where value moves as freely as information. We build on Squads Protocol to bring this stack to every developer, business, and individual.

Stablecoins were once a niche experiment. Today, they’re one of the fastest-growing technologies in history. The question isn’t if stablecoins consume every aspect of finance, but when. We’re here to compress that timeline. Join us.

About the Role

We’ve already launched Fuse on iOS using React Native. Now we’re looking for an Android Engineer to bring the same seamless, secure experience to Android users.

This is a foundational role. You’ll help define our mobile architecture, contribute to product direction, and play a critical part in shaping the first crypto experience for thousands of users.

This role is ideal for someone who wants autonomy, thrives in ambiguity, and wants to make an outsized impact in a fast-moving Web3 environment.

About Fuse

The Finance app for modern money

  • Traditional wallets (Phantom/Backpack) are more like social apps: focused on trading, connecting to every app/chain. They create amazing experiences but it’s not where i want to hold a large percentage of my net worth (it’s like a prepaid debit card – great but wouldn
  • Fuse is more like your bank account for stablecoins and tokenized assets. Whereas most wallets focus on social features, connecting to every app/blockchain or start with a specific feature like payments. Fuse starts with security, being the place you would trust holding a large percentage of your network, then has added things like Fuse Card on top as extensions of that base security.
  • Fuse is about trading over investing, curation of discovery (aka connecting to every app). Things like average wallet value and stablecoin TVL are more indicative of our success than something like Phantom which is focused on trading, and that’s why they charge fees on their swaps.

What you will be doing

  • Collaborate closely with product and design teams to build innovative and user-friendly Android application experiences
  • Implement custom, performant native UI components using modern Android development techniques and React Native
  • Develop reusable components and interfaces for seamless integration with backend services
  • Analyze, profile, and optimize application performance and code quality across the stack
  • Identify and solve complex engineering challenges related to usability, scalability, and security
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and influence mobile strategy across platforms
  • Ensure high-quality releases through thoughtful testing and automation

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience building mobile applications using React Native
  • Strong understanding of mobile UI development, animations, performance optimization, and architecture
  • Experience building maintainable and testable codebases, including API design and unit testing
  • Knowledge of multithreading, asynchronous programming, and memory management on mobile
  • Experience interfacing with backend services (e.g., REST APIs, GCP)
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize ruthlessly, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Interest in crypto and Web3, with a desire to build meaningful consumer products

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Kotlin or Java and the Android SDK for writing native modules when needed
  • Experience shipping a mobile app from concept to production in a small or solo team
  • Familiarity with Next.js, Rust, or backend development
  • Experience deploying smart contracts on Solana
  • Exposure to offensive security, threat modeling, or penetration testing
