Orca’s mission is to become the leading provider of financial primitives on Solana. Orca sees a future where a meaningful percentage of the world’s financial transactions is powered by CLAMMs and other Decentralized Finance (DeFi) products. Orca’s looking to add another senior software engineer to accelerate our progress towards that vision.

As a team of senior engineers, Orca’s contributors are comfortable working around the stack but tend to be experts in a particular area. Orca is looking for a like-minded generalist who can specialize in ensuring the reliability and performance of our critical infrastructure systems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage Infrastructure Systems: Oversee the performance and uptime of key infrastructure systems including AWS services, Postgres/Timescale DB's, Solana RPC nodes, Cloudflare load balancers, and our CI/CD systems
  • Monitor Performance and Uptime: Implement monitoring solutions to track system performance and uptime, ensuring all systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Cost Management: Manage and optimize costs associated with the infrastructure systems, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure System Availability: Ensure that all infrastructure systems are up and running, serving users without interruption. Quickly identify and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Deploy Code: Assist engineers with deploying code to the systems, ensuring seamless and reliable deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other teams to support their infrastructure needs and ensure that deployments are performed smoothly

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in a SRE, DevOps, or similar role, with a focus on managing cloud infrastructure and ensuring system reliability.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with AWS services, Postgres/Timescale databases, Solana RPC nodes, Cloudflare, and Github Continuous Integration.
  • CI/CD Expertise: Strong understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools.
  • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Expertise in monitoring system performance, tuning systems for optimal performance, and managing uptime.
  • Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security best practices for cloud infrastructure and data management.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with Solana: Familiarity with the Solana blockchain and its ecosystem.
