About Nova

Nova stands at the intersection of Sky's (formerly MakerDAO) leading decentralized stablecoin infrastructure and Solana's rapidly evolving DeFi ecosystem. As a strategic "Star" (SubDAO) within the Sky constellation, Nova pursues two primary objectives:

• driving adoption of USDS across the Solana ecosystem, and beyond;
• developing Solana's Liquidity Layer as a leading on-chain capital allocator.

Though not yet publicly launched, Nova already quietly oversees more than $120 million of TVL on Solana and has close partnerships with many of Solana’s leading DeFi teams.

In addition to building out infrastructure and partnerships to support Nova’s on-chain capital allocation framework, Nova contributors also develop, support and maintain Sky's Solana (SVM) infrastructure and integrator relationships.

Nova's distinctive advantage stems from its direct access to Sky's core protocol – enabling Nova to dynamically allocate resources in response to shifts in demand across Solana DeFi. The project is designed to ensure deep, reliable liquidity for lending, borrowing, and trading across Solana.

Core to Nova’s (and Sky’s) ethos is developing robust and sustainable decentralized, token holder-led governance for the project.

About Sky, USDS and Stars

Sky (formerly known as MakerDAO) is a leading and long-standing decentralized protocol – one of the cornerstones of the stablecoin and DeFi ecosystem. At the heart of Sky's offering is USDS (and DAI), the world's largest decentralized stablecoin (and third-largest stablecoin overall) with over $7.5billion in circulation.

USDS has gained significant traction for its stability, transparency, and growing integration across multiple blockchain ecosystems. sUSDS (or “Savings USDS”) has become DeFi’s savings standard - as one of the largest yield bearing stablecoins, with a stable and sustainable and transparent source of yield.

As part of Sky’s Endgame plans, Sky is launching a series of "Stars" (or SubDAOs). Each Star serves a strategic purpose within the broader Sky universe, focusing on specific blockchain ecosystems, use cases, or market opportunities.

As a Sky Star, Nova is focused on establishing USDS as the fundamental building block of Solana’s DeFi landscape while benefitting from infrastructure, liquidity, and established reputation of the broader Sky ecosystem. This relationship provides Nova with unique advantages in resource allocation, market positioning, and strategic alignment..

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Marketing, Communications and Community Lead to supercharge Nova’s reach and USDS adoption across the Solana ecosystem.

In this hands-on role, you’ll design and execute high-impact marketing campaigns, cultivate and grow an engaged international community of builders and users, and work closely with our growth team to drive USDS usage across DeFi and stablecoin markets.

This is a unique opportunity for a DeFi-savvy marketer who thrives at the nexus of community building, product evangelism, and strategic growth—bringing a proven protocol to new frontiers.

Key Responsibilities

• Community Engagement:
  • Launch, grow and energize Nova’s global community channels (Discord, Telegram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Play a role as a leading ambassador of Nova – for example, hosting AMAs, X spaces, office hours, and community calls.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for community inquiries, feedback, and governance discussions.
• Marketing Strategy & Execution:
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the ecosystems within which Nova plays a role – maintaining a proactive awareness of news and developments on the horizon, continuously identifying strategic co-marketing opportunities for Nova.
• Event Planning & Management:
  • You should be comfortable attending in-person events, networking and some degree of travel to attend conferences or other events.
  • Organize and host meetups, webinars, hackathons, conference activations and other community events to drive engagement and awareness.
  • Manage event logistics, communications, and post-event follow-ups.
• Content Creation & Brand Storytelling:
  • Produce high-quality content including blog posts, social media updates, newsletters, and other marketing materials that showcase the value that USDS brings to the Solana ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with designers and external agencies to maintain a cohesive, scalable brand voice and visual identity, and with content creators, researchers and reporters to ensure a consistent and high-quality messaging and content.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Nova and Sky’s missions, economics and operational models – sufficient to produce and critically assess thoughtful content that will stand up to challenge.
  • Highlight Nova and Sky/USDS’s use cases and benefits to the Solana and wider web3 ecosystem, providing informative and educational content.
• Partnership & Stakeholder Relations:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key ecosystem players: DeFi protocols, DAOs, key figures of influence, and local organizations to foster collaboration.
  • Collaborate with existing partners and identify and establish new partnerships with other protocols and teams across Solana DeFi and beyond. Represent Nova at external events and conferences.
• Analytics & Reporting:
  • Track and analyze KPIs: community growth, engagement metrics, campaign performance, USDS deposit flows.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to help shape future marketing strategies.
  • Use data to understand effectiveness of campaigns and inform decisions about future investments.

Desirable Qualifications & Skills

• Experience:
  • 5+ years in growth marketing or community management, ideally within blockchain, fintech, or global tech startups.
• Communication:
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse international audiences.
• Creativity & Initiative:
  • A self-starter who can generate creative ideas and execute them effectively.
• Technical Aptitude:
  • Familiarity with stablecoins, DeFi, and the Solana ecosystem is a must. Willingness and capability to develop a deep understanding of the operational and economic models underlying Nova.
• Organizational Skills:
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, proven track record managing cross-regional initiatives and events.
• Networking:
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and community partners.
