We are seeking a backend developer with AWS and smart contract experience. As a backend engineer you will be developing MetaWealth’s backend infrastructure to scale and support money movement, security, and user experience. In addition, you will play an integral part in shaping our engineering culture, mentoring others, and pioneering new architecture.

What kinds of challenges will you be working on at MetaWealth?

• Contribute to the design and development of our app

  Research technical approaches and drive decisions on platform components

  Finding and choosing the libraries, infrastructure, and 3rd party solutions that fit our needs

  Documenting, testing, and deploying our smart contracts

  Building reusable components for our React Native consumer app

  Collaborate with the rest of the engineering and product teams to prioritize, estimate cost, spec upcoming features and productize customer requests

  Shaping the engineering culture of MetaWealth and offering mentorship across the horizontal

  Work closely with company founders to identify upcoming opportunities and risks while implementing and maintaining our blockchain infrastructure

  Providing input during feature planning sessions, throughout development, during and after shipping features (end-to-end ownership of features)

  Participating in rotating common duties like bug fixing, release cycles, on-call rotations

  What we're looking for

• No ego, a goal-oriented design enthusiast who both pro-actively seeks and provides constructive feedback with confidence

  7+ years in building mission-critical distributed services that arehigh-throughput and low-latency on AWS

  Strong technical grasp and excellent judgment on project scoping and work prioritization

  Deep understanding of the Ethereum Virtual Machine

  Able to tackle challenging engineering problems in complex domains that deliver results

  History of creating and applying new processes and tooling to increase engineering efficiency

  Strong understanding of data modeling and extensive experience in good API design practices (gRPC, GraphQL, and REST)

  Experience building one or more large-scale services in Golang, or Java

  Experience building smart contracts or transactional fintech solutions

  Experience building event-driven architecture design with Kafka as well as using GraphQL APIs to represent our data model

  Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team

  Nice to have

  An entrepreneurial spirit with a can-do attitude and a relentless passion for collaboration and creative thinking

  Great understanding of how the EVM and blockchain work

  Understanding the different contract standards like ERC-20, ERC-721, and ERC-1155

  Ability to derive information from a research paper, whitepaper, technical paper, etc.
