Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to oversee all legal aspects of our organization. This individual will serve as our legal advisor, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, managing legal risks, and providing strategic guidance to support Marinade Finance's growth and operations.In addition this person will act as our Compliance Officer–helping to design, implement and run our compliance program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including vendor agreements, employment contracts, and partnership deals, ensuring alignment with the company's interests and legal standards.​
• Legal Advisory: Provide expert legal advice to the executive team on matters such as corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.​
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., product, compliance, finance) to provide legal support and ensure alignment with company goals. Educate and train employees on legal and regulatory matters as needed.
• Compliance Oversight: Develop and implement policies to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations, maintaining legal compliance across all operations.​
• Corporate Governance: Advise on corporate governance matters, ensuring that the company's operations align with its legal obligations and best practices.​

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.​
• Licensure: Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.​ Experience: 5-10 years legal experience, preferably with a background in corporate law, compliance, and experience in a business environment or law firm with significant experience in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High ethical standards and integrity.
