Senior Full Stack Engineer
Fact Machine
About Us
Fact Machine is reinventing how people engage with opinions online. We run 24-hour prediction markets on subjective questions - think "Should the US acquire Greenland?" or "Is this the right take?"- where users trade on predicted consensus outcomes. We've raised $8.2M and are preparing for public launch in the next 3 months after a successful closed alpha.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our core team. You’ll be working closely with our CTO and three more engineers to bring the product to life across the stack.
This is a foundational role based on ownership, speed, and autonomy - ideal for someone who has deep experience working at early stage startups, familiarity with our typescript stack (NestJS + NextJS) and wants to build something truly new that we know can scale massively.
What You’ll Do
-
Contribute to our frontend built with Next - from wallet integrations, transaction flows to real-time market UIs and fluid animations.
-
Develop, deploy, optimize our backend codebase (a mix of Rust + a NestJS), including transaction relayers, Rest APIs, real time updates, or on-chain indexing
-
You may configure and manage infra, build and maintain CI/CD workflows, or dive deep on application security and system health, among others.
-
Beyond all, optimize for speed, reliability, and UX. We’re heavily indexed on ease-of-use - anything we build must appeal to everyday users beyond the crypto native crowd.
-
Ship rapidly: prototype, test, and deploy iteratively as we expand and scale.
You Might Be a Fit If You
-
Are comfortable with a high degree of ownership + responsibility in a high trust environment. We operate in a flat hierarchy and we’re lean. You will not be micromanaged, all we care about is output.
-
Have prior on-the-job experience working in full stack development that’s experienced heavy usage or supported a large user base. Extensive crypto development experience is a great addition to this (but not required).
-
Are comfortable building across the stack: TypeScript/React (frontend), and TS/Nest (backend/APIs). Some react experience is a must for this role.
-
You already understand how to build and scale high frequency consumer applications and have worked closely with product and design teams to bring ideas to life.
-
If you don’t know something, your first instinct is not to give up or delegate, it’s to learn it.
-
You’re proactive. You see problems and want to fix them without being told to.
-
Are based in New York City and willing to work in person - this role is embedded closely with our CTO and founding team who all work in-person in NYC.
Why Join Us
-
Work side-by-side with experienced builders at the very beginning of a new category of application.
-
Build something original.
-
This is an incredibly high impact role.
-
As we scale we will scale you with us - you’ll eventually lead teams, play a key role in managing the technical infrastructure, and help set requirements and goals as the team grows.
-
Competitive compensation, meaningful equity, and a tight feedback loop from real users.
